People know Basildon by its ‘Bas Vegas’ reputation. This actually refers to the Festival Leisure Park that house cinemas, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, hotels, bowling and even wakeboarding. A few miles away towards Pitsea is the amazing Wat Tyler Park, set in 125 acres of countryside and marshland. Within the park the café is open daily and there is an art and crafts centre as well as abundant wildlife.
